Community Cat Care
Mapping, Counting & Monitoring CAT COLONIES
Understanding the free-roaming cat population on Paros and Antiparos is key to providing effective care. Our team systematically counts, maps, and monitors cat colonies, tracking population changes and identifying new colonies. This data guides our spay/neuter programs, ensuring resources go where they are most needed.
Our work allows us to assess progress, improve intervention strategies, and advocate for long-term, sustainable solutions for the island’s community cats.
Why It Matters
Our project benefits not only the cats but also the residents and visitors of Paros and Antiparos. By managing the cat population in a humane and sustainable way, we help reduce nuisance behaviors, prevent the spread of disease, and promote a cleaner and more harmonious environment. This is a community effort, one that we believe reflects the values of philoxenia – a deep-rooted Greek spirit of hospitality and kindness – extended to every living being on our islands.
